If you have area rugs that slide around on your floors, using carpet tape is a simple and effective solution to keep them in place.
Here's how to do it step by step:
-
Clean the area where the rug will be placed: Make sure the floor is clean and dry. Use a broom or vacuum to remove any dirt, dust, or debris.
-
Place the rug: Place the rug exactly where you want it to be.
-
Cut the carpet tape: Measure the length of the rug and cut a piece of carpet tape with a utility knife (so the tape won't gum up your scissors) that is slightly shorter than the length of the rug.
-
Place the tape: Turn over the side of the rug and place the sticky side onto the bottom of the rug. Press the tape firmly onto the floor, making sure it is flat and secure. Measure the remaining sides and place tape so there is tape on all four sides of the rug.
- Repeat
